Thank you for visiting our site. EAA Chapter #50 is incorporated in the state of Ohio and is tax-exempt under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code as a non-profit organization. Through the years, members of Chapter #50 have flown over 1200 young people under EAA's Young Eagles program. The chapter gives annual scholarships to area high school students who plan on attending college in preparation for a career in aviation and sponsors a teen to EAA's Air Academy. We hold a Boy Scouts of America three-day program twice yearly so the scouts may earn their Aviation Merit badge. In addition, Chapter #50 sponsors monthly education and/or fly-in/drive-in events at local airports.
(Only events happening within the next 30 days will appear here.)
There will be Young Eagles Flights on Saturday, June 29, from 9:00am - noon, at the Huron County Airport in conjunction with Community Airport Day.

Thank you to all who participated in the recent Ford Tri-Motor visit as a sponsor or volunteer. When I think about volunteers and sponsors, I’m reminded of a quote by Robert South, “If there ever be a true measure of a man by what he does it must be by what he gives." Our volunteers and sponsors of our events that help so many young people and adults are truly very special! I can assure both sponsors and volunteers that whatever you donated (time, discounts, or dollars), none will go unnoticed.
It is my opinion that the value of the International Women’s Air & Space Museum to the city of Cleveland and area residents is undervalued based on special events they sponsor for young people as well as adults. Their educational programs and historical displays are without challenge! If they were assisted in any way during the “Ford event", it was worthwhile.
Our organization, EAA Chapter #50, Hinde Airport (88D), Huron, Ohio, will continue to sponsor events such as our monthly educational meetings, our three-day Boy Scout Aviation merit badge program, and continue to give scholarships to area high school seniors who have enrolled in aviation colleges throughout the USA. Like IWA&SM it's 99% free to the public!
EAA #50 President
Do you have a group of young people ages 8-17 who are interested in flying? Contact Bob, our Young Eagles Coordinator, at 419-668-3604 to make arrangements for free airplane rides. First-time flyers only (those who have never had a Young Eagles flight before). This program is to introduce children to their first flight in a general aviation aircraft.
